Oh really, this seems to be splitting hairs. Why couldn't one speak through pain AND anger; especially a teenager who's been through the kind of esperiences that Harry has. Seems to me that JKR is just trying to convey to us the pain, anger and CONFUSION that Harry feels with the seemingly conflicting "modifying phrase".
