If he's still alive mobile and conscious, for the purposes of plot, 
it is a minor injury.  

I want Harry to loose an eye.  Eye patches are cool and that would 
mean he'd have trouble aiming. 

I hope this rumor is true.  If she's done by January, they can edit 
the book this time.
