My goodness, this is an interesting point.  If memory serves me correctly, Crouch Sr. is dead isn't he?  Crouch Jr. confesses the murder of his father, turning him into a bone, and burying him.  Isn't Winky aware of this fact?  If so, her depression could actually be grief along with guilt.  If not, it's reasonable to assume that she is continuing to worry about Crouch, Sr.  Whichever, IMHO we have not seen the last of this issue.
