Richard here:

I'm more reminded of Percival, the Knight of the Round Table who 
completed the quest for the Grail.  Considering the importance of the 
Legend of Arthur, the Quest for the Grail, etc., I find it hard to 
believe that this is NOT in some sense part of the reason behind the 
use of this name for Dumbledore, and the diminutive for Percy 
Weasley.  To me, this seems likely to be a hint of something that 
Percy will do 'ere the end of the series, and perhaps that he will 
survive the tale, as did Percival.
