That would also explain why Lupin calls Snape such an excellent 
occlumens! If he is good at legilimency, but cannot manage to glean 
truth/lies from Snape's mind (doing my utmost best not to call it 
mind-reading <g>) then Snape has to be really good at occlumency, in 
Lupin's opinion.
