I had an intriguing thought. What if Harry *doesn't* make it into 
NEWT potions? JKR has hinted he might have some problems.

 Suppose he needs to repeat 5th year potions in order to get 
another crack at the OWL (admittedly we don't know if that's 
possible). But that would put him in Gryffindor 5th year potions... 
with Ginny.
