>>I just don't get it. If anyone can perform an Imperio just like an Accio, then I don't see why Imperio should be deemed Unforgivable. Not nice yes, forbidden yes, but unforgivable no. On the other hand, if Imperio denotes an irremediably evil heart, then I don't understand how anyone can be allowed to use them under whatever
circumstances, much less encouraged as the Aurors obviously were during VW1.<<
SB4E:
I always thought that they were unforgivables because of what you could do with them...Crucio...causes pain, extreme pain, that can be used to drive a person insane and in essence end their lives....Imperio...controlling a person's mind, taking over people's free will, again, in essence ending their lives if they can't escape...and Avada Kedavra...needs no explanation...murder never does.
If we were talking about something like a cheering charm that wears off, that would be one thing, but these can all be used to destroy a person's life.
And on a side note, there is another charm that the WW obviously has no problem with, that to me should fall right in with the unforgivables...or close...and that is the memory charm. It is just wrong to mess with peoples minds, I don't care what the reason.
There's my 2 knuts worth.
