The Sergeant Majorette says

A year or so ago, an alumna of my high school died: at the wake, she
lay in her coffin with her glasses on her closed eyes, which I found
oddly comforting. Some of us have our identity bound up in our four-
eyedness, and would hate the thought of Eternity coming at us out of
a blur.

So, what if Harry's glasses serve as a rein on his power rather than
just corrective lenses? Why don't they have a spell or a potion to
correct vision? Aren't glasses sort of Muggle? Why do Lily's eyes
need James' glasses?
