What does Christmas represent to the WW?

I, too, shall delurk for a small comment. I noticed that in OOTP? 
(sorry, at work so no page number) that Sirius sings a parody version 
of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" to "God Rest Ye Merry Hippogriff", 
which means he is familiar with this song. I thought this was 
interesting as this is most definately a song from the Christian 
background ("For Jesus Christ our saviour was born on Christmas day, 
etc"). I wondered how he, a pureblood wizard, would be familiar with 
that song if there was indeed an absence of organized religion in the 
WW.
