Yes, I agree with this.

Susan responds:
We simply do not agree on this part of it. She wasn't threatening
him? She was just a silly girl? Yes, he used those words when
telling Harry the story, but I'm not convinced that's what he felt
or believed! She'd defied him twice before, she was in the Order,
she was smart enough to figure out this ancient magic thing. Voldy
may well have underestimated her that night but I still believe
there was **something else** going on in his mind, some other reason
for his planning to spare Lily's life.
>From what we've read about his unscrupulousness, his lack of concern
for life in any form, his cruelty, and his hatred of "mudbloods", I
just see NO REASON why he wouldn't have gone in planning to dispense
w/ the whole lot of them. Why have compassion that night or care
about saving the 5 seconds it probably takes to AK someone? In
fact, while you [I think] see it that he saw her as no threat
because she wasn't holding a wand, I see it that that made her all
that much easier to kill quickly. So I don't buy that he just
couldn't be bothered with her or simply thought she was a silly girl
to not worry about. No, I think he had a *reason* for wanting to
spare her.
Surely there are theories out there about this??
