Charm or invisible there must be something.  In fact,that scene still 
works like this:  the mark is not normally visible unless LV makes it 
so.  But Crouch!Moody says to Snape, "Some marks don't come off."  
referring to fact  that it was coming back. Snape of course, would 
wonder how Moody knows that or thinks he can see it with his eye.
