Potioncat:
Does anyone remember Boris Badunov? (Bad enough) I would have sworn
his name was spelled with "f" but I looked it up. Do you suppose JKR
used "off" spelling for the sound?

New idea. I just stated the chapter where Hagrid returns in OoP.
The giant boss is Karkus. I think I have the right spelling. To me
that would be carcass, like Kreacher is creature. (Or is my Southern
accent coming back?) I was wondering if the Kark part of Karkaroff's
name was related to carcass.

Someone said Igor means bowman, wouldn't "bowman" fit the role of
killer for LV?
