I neglected to mention something.  The two anchors in the story seem 
to be the Ministry of Magic and the Defense Against the Dark Arts 
class.  Anchors probably isn't the right word, but they figure 
prominently.  MOM and DADA.  Mom and Dad.  I don't know if it means 
anything or not, but I think it does.
