Harry Vs. LV Matrix style

I had a weird thought regarding how the final battle
between Harry and LV might play itself out.  (My
apologies if this has been suggested before)  We know
that the two of them are connected mind to mind by the
AK that failed.  We know that LV can use this
connection to project images into Harry's mind that
seem real.  How real do these images appear?  I keep
thinking of the Matrix trilogy where,  if you are
killed in the Matrix,  you die in real life because
your mind believes its real.  Could the images LV
project act in the same way?  *Pictures Harry falling
asleep and LV connecting to his mind at that moment. 
Then,  they duel and if one of them dies in the dream,
 then that person dies for real*  

Okay,  I know JKR probably won't use this idea,  but
hey,  anything's possible.
