I have no doubt that the situation described above could happen,
however, Hermione would have good intentions in this situation. I
truly believe that the temptation would require evil intentions.
historic literature has two different view of this. The first is the
human flaw. Harry being lead astray by Hermione would take that
form. Common human flaws include pride, trust, hubris, etc. The myth
of Icarus is one of my favorites in that vein. Temptation is
different; it requires that someone with evil intentions wave
something in the face of a flawed human (and all humans are flawed).
Good examples of this are the snake in the garden, the temptation in
the desert, Circe, or for those of you needing a more modern
connection the end of the movie "7".
