Well, there's been so many things said so far, that I found it impossible to
try to snip and respond. So, I'm just going to try to talk about Molly from my
point of view. I do love Molly. I do think she gets overbearing at times, and
her attitude toward Sirius in OOTP was disgraceful. Yet, I can understand her.
Overall, everything she does is with love for her family and those around her.
I think she considers Harry as part of her family now. As far as how she yells
and bullies everyone she loves is concerned ... well, you see how much anyone
pays attention or seems to be bothered by it. It doesn't seem to have had a
negative effect on any of them. In GoF, it was the twins she embraced first,
when they all returned from the world cup, because she was so upset that her
last words to them were angry.

I think that in OOTP, Molly is not only faced with the constant threat to all
whom she loves, but she has the rift with Percy that breaks her heart. She is
also trying to live suddenly in a world of mystery and intrigue and great
danger. She is a pretty straightforward woman, and I'd bet all the intrigue is
completely foreign to her personality. So, she has the fear for her family and
Harry, the break up with Percy and the everyday danger, the fact that Voldemort
has returned, I think we can expect her anxiety to make her a little over the
top sometimes. Sirius was my very favorite character, so I didn't like seeing
her abuse him verbally, yet I think the two of them were having a bit of a
battle over Harry. She seemed to get better about it as the story progressed.
If we can cut Harry some slack on his deplorable attitude in OOTP, saying he's
a teenager, he's been kept out of the loop, ... all the reasons why Harry was
such a pain for much of the book, I can also cut Molly some slack for her
attitudes. I can't imagine how I would react if I lived constantly with the
very real prospect that some terrible thing could happen to any one of the
people I love best.
