But the ability might be innate to the cats not the squibs, just as 
it is Hedwig's special abilities which allow her to find the correct 
recipients of letters rather than something she gets from Harry. Also 
I have my suspicions about squibs being able to see dementors, Mrs 
Figg knew there were dementors there because she felt them, and 
unlike most muggles she knows what to attribute the sudden gloom to. 
But her only description of what dementors look like is very bad. She 
could have been lying to get Harry off the hook.
