Carol:
I agree that Mark Evans will show up at Hogwarts in the next book but
I don't think he's Snape's child. It's more likely that he's a
Muggle-born distant relation of Harry's. The MoM and Dumbledore aren't
aware of him because his parents are Muggles and his own magic, if
any, would be of the weak accidental kind (like Harry's growing his
hair back) that doesn't show up on their radar. Specifically, I think
that Mark and Harry are something like second cousins who shared a
Squib grandfather named Evans. That seems less far-fetched to me than
the Perseus Evans theory. (Snape is my favorite character, but I doubt
very much that he would allow his child, if he had one, to be raised
by Muggles in Little Whinging.)
