No need for regrets - I can tell you all! <g> I read OoP without
having heard any rumours of Sirius' death (but did, of course, know
that an important character will die). It was fairly early in the
book that I became sure that Sirius was the intended death - mainly
because of all those references to his recklessness, I think.

I don't understand these conspiracy theories: Harry was looking
directly at Sirius when he was hit with the curse - which is
described as a jet of light (i.e., vectorial). How could he not
notice the direction from which it came? Remember, Sirius and Bella
were the only ones fighting at that point. It's not as though there
was a mellee of spells flying across the room, where someone can take
advantage of the confusion and hit Sirius without being noticed. It
was just the two of them, on the stone stage - I don't see how it was
possible to hit Sirius without being noticed.

I actually predict a twin dying (George, I'm afraid, is toast). This
is because it covers the required Weasley death, makes for a heart
breaking tragedy, but doesn't really leave structural holes, so to
speak, in the story. Our hearts will go out to poor old Fred, but
after all - do we *really* need two of them?
