You and Scholastic.  I just compared my UK and American editions, and sure enough, on pp. 52-54, paperback edition, he's referred to as the manager throughout: 

"Oh, I wouldn't read that if I were you," said the MANAGER lightly, looking to see what Harry was staring at... The MANAGER pressed Unfogging the Future into Harry's hands. [my emphasis]

I wondered why that didn't ring any bells, having just reread the Scholastic paperback edition of POA.  Now we know!
