In the Sept 8, 1999 Barnes&Noble interview with JKR ( this is just
after PoA was released), she is asked:

"Hello! Will Sirius ever be proven innocent? Or have you not decided
yet? Thank you very much!!"

And JKR replies:

"I have decided, but if I answer it gives away something quite
important in the plot, so I'd rather not...however, Sirius will be
back in future books."

After thinking about this, I have come up with a couple
ideas/questions about what she could have meant...( which of course
is probably just a wild imagination on my part), but...

1.)In the OotP, He is still not PROVEN innocent. The others in the
Order just happen to believe him, and H/H/R & Dumbledore, so she
still has not SHOWN it to the others in the WW. By now we know he is
dead, and probably "properly dead", but (as for me) I continue to
hope his name is cleared with Wormtail and LV being "properly back"
and at the beginning of book 6 or there abouts I'm betting everyone
will know this. So....I'm hoping Harry gets Grimmauld Place for
himself,(since the last Black is dead, they can finally unstick the
portrait of Sirius's mum, and remove the other foul items) and
continues to let the Order use it as their meeting place, but that it
will be slipped to LV where it is (on purpose by Kreacher...they will
give him sort of permission to tell Narcissa?) at or near the end of
book 7 and that Grimmauld Place might be the final battle ground. Why
do I believe this? I don't know...it seems to me that maybe Harry
will finally feel he has a place that is finally HOME, and will want
to fight fiercly protect it, and will feel a lot of LOVE and fondness
for it, since Sirius had offered it to him,... and Sirius was his
parents best friend.

2.) I think maybe Professor Lupin will come live there with Harry
also as a guardian figure, after Harry has mastered the art of making
the Wolfsbane potion in his N.E.W.T studies for potions after hours
with Professor McGonagall. In that same interview, JKR mentions that
Professor Lupin is one of her favorite characters, as well as Harry,
so I just like this idea of them being kind of eccentrics together...

Ok, these are my first Theories, so go ahead and blast them
apart....you guys are so good at that, but I had fun thinking of them
anyway, so there! :) Amy C.
