I agree with you Jim. I think the point of this scene was to let the
readers know more about how the unforgivable curses work. It is a
clue from JKR to tell her readers that only a certain kind of
personality is capable of casting them. I'm wondering if Lily's
sacrifice somehow protects Harry's soul? Could a little bit of Lily's
soul be inside of Harry?
