Just  a thought re the proceedings:  might it perhaps not be better to give
them out *after* the conference than beforehand?

I know that as a presenter, I would be happier knowing that people had seen
my presentation first and read my paper afterward than the other way around,
because otherwise I'll be worrying the whole time I'm speaking, "Of course,
all this is in the essay, which half of them have probably already read..."
