I liked this question!  And I was always a little queasy to think of 
cream sauce pouring forth from the wand tip.  Who knows where that wand 
has been?  Harry's had been up the Mountain Troll's nose after all.

Yes and no.  The potatoes whizzing around the kitchen is by magic, no 
doubt, but the cream sauce is another issue entirely.  Of course why 
bother to have cookbooks at all--and there were several mentioned--if 
you produce things out of thin air?  Why bother to have fat brown 
chickens in the yard unless you just want something to stumble over?
Why bother to cook--Molly serving sausages from the frying pan--if you 
can just magic cooked food onto a plate?
