This is interesting. Since JKR said in her recent interview that 
Percy is, unfortunately, acting on his own accord, we can rule out 
the Imperius curse.  So we're left with the possibility that (1)Percy 
really is a prat, or (2)someone (Dumbledore?) has asked Percy to go 
deep undercover at the Ministry in order to collect information; so 
deep, that he's even had to alienate his own family to do it.  I vote 
for #2.

Well, she has said that she killed off Sirius, but has made it 
perfectly muddy (also in her recent interview), whether or not he 
will be coming back.  I believe Sirius' death was faked for the 
benefit of the Order, so I think (yay!) he's coming back and (yay!) 
Percy will help!
