Wasn't it Trelawney who made the prediction about a child being born
on July 31st in DD presence before coming to Hogwarts? (Knowing her
rather, shall we say, impulsive nature, it may be why DD insists that
she remain at Hogwarts! Can't have HER blabbing!) And didn't DD tell
Harry that Neville COULD have been the one that Voltemort was trying
to kill?(At the end of OOTP)I think you're definitely "on" to
something here! I'm checking other sources for more information....

IF Neville IS the one hunted by Voltemort, then perhaps Harry's
parents are just part of a huge "coverup" and aren't really dead at
all....but what a price to pay....having to watch your child
being "abused" for 11 years before getting any help from Hogwarts!
That would be more than I could bear! And IF Neville suffers from a
Memory Charm, what could HE have seen that warranted that? The
tormenting of HIS parents? Perhaps Voltemort got the story wrong!
Afterall, he only stayed around for the first half!

djrfdh...who is SO READY for book 6!
