Wait a second! If Voldemort absorbed Harry's blood protection, then
it would have lapsed after a year. So maybe it was only for that
year that Voldie could touch Harry. That would explain why no one
wanted Harry to bother with the Order or anything during OotP; that
year was the only time that Harry would be vulnerable to Voldie.
That would explain the 'gleam of triumph' also; now Voldie wouldn't
expect to be burned if he touched Harry again. And that kind of
advantage is invaluable on the battlefield.
