I don't think a child can owe a life debt to an adult.  Children, by virtue
of being children, often do stupid, reckless things.  And we adults protect
them.  We do it because we're the adult.  I once pulled a toddler out of a
pool when I heard her mother screaming.  Does that baby owe me anything?
Nope--she was being a toddler.  Since the WW imitates the RR, I assume the
same child-adult relationships exist, where the adults are *supposed* to
protect the kids.

That said, I also think only LV can kill Harry, in which case Lupin's
actions, though perhaps heroic, wouldn't equate a life debt.  When Harry
fell off his broom in POA, DD slowed down his fall.  Did he save Harry, or
merely prevent greater injuries?  Since I don't think Harry would have died,
I also don't think he owes DD a life debt.
