I was just vaguely wondering if the depths of the vaults had any
connection with the various levels of the MoM. Harry's vault seemed
to be a higher level than the one containing the Philosopher's Stone.
7-series vaults could be deeper than 6-series etc.

I believe the MoM depts go deeper the higher the number - Harry's
trial was at Level 9, apparently the deepest. The MoM and Gringotts
can't be very far apart, geographically. Is there a numbered
subterranean system (literally) underpinning the WW ?

Was that how the Durmstrang ship made it to Hogwarts?

As you often sign off, just a thought <g>.
