many accidents and non LV dangers in the past. Besides, I think it
would be very cool for someone like Malfoy to try and AK Harry and
have nothing happen...imagine the look on Malfoy's face...any other
thoughts? Am I off my rocker?

Hmm... I think it's possible. Remember Crouch!Moody saying that 'you
could all point your wands at me and say the words (Avada Kedavra)
and I wouldn't get so much as a nose-bleed' or something to that
effect. Why would he say that?

1) Crouch's Mom did sacrifice herself for him (which was the sort
that saved Harry, I think, to lesser effect)
2) 14-year-olds cannot perform AK-curse...
3)There is a protection on him...

And I dare say Harry WILL survive to the end of 7th book, no matter
what. (because this is his story, and there will be 7 books). Neville
may be there with Harry in the end, and the two take him together.

And now that we've met the real Moody...
1)Real Moody wouldn't have needed Hermione to tell him stop torturing
the poor Spider.
2)He might have transfigured Draco Malfoy into a ferret, but that
bouncing thing went a bit far, I'd say.
3)The stair-incident... I do believe that Moody would have at least
scolded Harry for that elementary mistake - and certainly not waited
for Harry to ask being released! (see how he scolds him for putting
the wand into the back-pocket...)

And I do like this real Moody - particularly the end-scene where he,
Lupin, Weasley and Tonks directly threaten Vernon Dursley.
