Interesting choice of words - 'was responsible for'.

Actually, the action in the Ministry is, like so much of HP open to
interpretation (Yippee!). There is no definitive canon (hints, yes) that
dear Bella launched the curse that zapped Sirius. There's not even a
confirmation of what spell it was that hit him. You have to ask why.
Is JKR playing at red herrings or is it me being paranoid?
None of Lupin's actions are mentioned until after the dire deed
(except for telling Harry to run). All the other players are described
as fighting, dodging or whatever, but not Lupin, a major character
in the books. Again, why? Wouldn't he be expected to be in the
thick of the fight to save Harry?

Not that I'm yet convinced that he's Lupin!ESE (sorry Pippin), in
fact he may be just the opposite. Lupin is a bit of an enigma (see
81846 - Crying wolf?), the theory germinated from that and
doubts about Sirius (79808 - Sirius reservations). No Eureka! post,
I'm afraid, more a slow accumulation of bits and pieces and taking
the jig-saw that we have and seeing if it can be fitted together
to give a slightly different picture. Lupin may have crunched Sirius
because he believed (or was told) that Sirius+Harry=Disaster.
Who would Harry listen to - DD or Sirius? No contest. Sirius was
a loose cannon, rash, impulsive and attempting to fit the square
peg that is Harry into the round hole that was James. And Harry
listened to him, admired him. So Sirius had to go. And Lupin was
the hatchet-man.

I'll try and sort through back posts, see if I can find the ones that
added to my argument, but it won't be quick, there seems to be an
awfully big pile to go through.
