sister of Lucius Malfoy's father, but a squib. Coming from such a
family with house elves who do everything for you, how would
she be able to run a household, let alone a magical one! BTW,
gives Snape's dad an excellent reason for shouting at his wife,
see?<

I've thought Snape had squibby connections too. We don't know
what happens to the children of squibs who marry other
squibs--do they stay in the wizarding world? But I had more the
idea that they would live as servants to people like the Malfoys,
doing the jobs that are too delicate for House Elves. But I like
your idea about Knockturn Alley.

It gives me an idea about the Snape cockroach connection. What
if Snape's boggart is a cockroach? Definitely something you'd
find at KA. It would be funny for Lupin to turn the thing that scares
him into the thing that scares Snape. It would make sense that
the thing that Snape would throw at Harry is the most disgusting
thing he can imagine. It doesn't explain about the cockroach
candy, but maybe the Marauders fed him some as a practical
joke.
