Hmmm, a possibility ... we don't know enough yet about the veil ...

Anyway, your post did remind me of the scene in CoS where Harry sees
the picture of escaped prisoner-Sirius for the first time (I believe
it was in the paper of Uncle Vernon - no books at work, sorry) and it
reminds him very much of the Vampire pictures he had seen in his DADA
classes the previous year. Foreshadowing?

{Silverthorne}
I always wondered about that myself...^^ I didn;t think about it until I joined this board, though. Then again, I read the books to enjoy them first and then look at the 'clues' in retrospect, so it isn;t surprising that I didn't come in with the Vampire!Sirius guns blazing.

But then after reading the posts here, looking at clues...yeah, I would be mnore likely to point the vampy finger at Sirius--he's far more closer to the unaltered idea of Vamps as we know them--handsome, pale *noble* (Remember, Dracul was a lord of his very own castle and village), with a penchent for noble acts despite being seeped in Darkness (Sirius is one of a very few Blacks who *isn't* seeped in the Darks Arts), and now he has a good vehicle to complete the legend--all he has to do is find a way to coem back ot the land of the living...rather like the vamps of old dug themselves out of their graves at night to wonder the world...

He'd make a *great* sympathetic Vamp (ever so much more than Snape could ever hope to be).

Lilian:
BTW, someone mentioned in a post not too long ago that JKR said in a
interview that Dementors originate (erm, not quite the right term but
can't remember it) from fungus. So that would IMO rule out the
possibility that Sirius becomes a dementor.

{Silverthorne}
Yeah, that sunk through *after* I'd posted ^^;...that's all right though. I'm not that heartbroken at the thought. If Sirius *did* come back, I wouldn;t mind if he ahd to fight his own inner darkness a bit, but I'd honestly be upset if he was just some souless murdering *thing* anyway. At least in the Vamp scenario, he has a chance to still be a good (and possibly even 'better') guy...^^

Anne/Silverthorne.
