Carolyn:
Yes indeed, quite entertaining, especially the person who earnestly
explains Lily didn't die on the Titanic but in Godric's Hollow. The
archives are a treasure trove whenever you get bored with an outbreak
of PC-ness on the main list. Another thread you might enjoy from the
Yahoo club starts at 702 (see below)- from a promisingly bonkers Mr
Beckhorn. This one runs and runs as you can imagine, through to 738,
and then starts up again at 774 after he reads the first chapter of
PS, and thinks the Dursleys are letting down Christianity.

As an unrepentant heathen I just enjoyed it as a an excellent
Internet bar-room fight, but you will no doubt take it a little more
seriously. There is actually a rather touching post at one point from
a self-confessed Christian fundamentalist who feels he has to
apologise for Mr Beckhorn, and admits that the Harry Potter series
has had him questioning his beliefs - one for JKR's scrapbook I think.

I had assumed, when I saw this club, that it would be adults, talking
about what to do about this new phenomenon with children, Harry Potter
book series. Instead it is adults who say that the books are good,
haven't you ever heard of a little book called the bible????? That is
the important book, can you show me where in the bible it says
witchcraft is acceptable???? How can we teach this to our children??
We should teach them to respect and worship and fear our lord not to
mock Him! you should be ashamed of yourselvces.
