If it was nothing severe,  I think I would've just
taken the penalty as opposed to jumping through hoops
for LV.

Bookworm:
He didn't know LV was behind it. Remember how most of
the students were wishing they could be in it. And how
jealous Ron was because Harry got in and he didn't.
Why would Harry give that up?

Tyler again:
Thats true;  at first,  he had no idea that LV was
behind it.  But he still didn't want to compete.  The
morning after his name came out,  didn't he say
something to Hermione about how he was worried that
he'd make a prat of himself in front of the whole
school and he'd probably get his neck broken (sorry
can't remember the exact quotes)?  Harry doesn't seem
to be interested in competing,  nor does he seem to
have alot of confidence about his chances in the tournament.
