Hi - I'm new to the group, but I have been lurking for a few days.
Lupin appears to be sincere, but I think that he is somehow blocked
in his emotions because of the werewolf thing. It also appears that
he is the one out of the Mauruders who kept the cool head and allowed
the others to lean on him. Harry looks to Hermione (the "rock" of the
Trio) for logical advice and stability that Ron can't provide. He
clearly wants the same thing out of a male adult (hence Dumbledore,
Sirius, his idealizing of James, etc...)
