"He deceived his friends and they *could* have rejected him."
Yes, Ron when finding out that Lupin was a werewolf doesn't allow Lupin to
help him when Lupin tried, Sirius, James and Peter could have rejected him and
shunned him, but they didn't.
"Pippin
He led his friends into being illegal Animagi, and they *could*
have gotten in trouble, but Dumbledore never found out"
I would say that his friends decided on their own to become animagi, Lupin is
taking responsibility for something that he didn't control.
"Pippin
Poor Remus, he's *so* concerned about Ron's leg. But does he
think that Ron wouldn't have chased the dog in the first place if
he'd known it might be Sirius in disguise?"
Ron doesn't chase the dog, he chased Scabbers and after he got Scabbers back,
before he could move away, Sirius comes and gets the two of them and takes
them into the Shrieking Shack. Would he have gone after Scabbers if he knew it
was Peter Pettigrew? I doubt it, but Lupin thought that Peter was dead and only
saw Peter's name on the Marauder's Map about a minute before Sirius took them
down the tunnel. Lupin follows as fast as he can. Then we find out that he
forgot to take the potion on this evening because he left in a hurry. Not only
did he leave in a hurry but forgot to wipe the map.
"Pippin
No wonder Lupin's question about sending an innocent man to
Azkaban put Snape over the edge. Where was all this concern
about innocent people when *he* was the one who was
suffering from a schoolboy grudge?"
Snape is not innocent of his grudge against James, Sirius and Remus. We don't
know the backstory of what went on with them. I believe that Snape hexed just
as much as the Marauders did. I think the relationship between the Marauders
and Snape is just like Draco and Harry.
