My first thought matched Melanie's, in that maybe it is merely enough
to see a corpse, or maybe even just see the person fall off the
mile-high cliff. Was Luna specifically on hand when her mother died
performing her risky experiment, or did she just see the aftermath?
Is Fantastic Beasts specific on this particular?
It also occurs to me that children's power of sight is considerably
weaker when they are newborn than several years later. Part of this
is lack of peripheral vision (in which case, Lily could very well have
been holding him), and part of this is simply not being able to
resolve certain shapes and images. We know from canon Harry was about
a year old. Any listies know about the physical development of
children? Did Harry actually see Lily get killed, or her corpse?
Sea Change, adding in his two-dollar bill (inflation, ya know).
