I'd go even further. In my idea, the fact that the Prophecy was made
and Harry heard it cannot change anything to the *outcome* of the
War, it can only change what will happen *until then*.
It's a bit like being told : you're going to die tomorrow. Well, you
can choose to stay at home or to go to work (for example). But if it
so happens that you are supposed to die in your sleep at 22:30,
because of an earthquake, the fact that the prophecy is made and
that you hear it won't change anything to the outcome. It can lead
you to live that last day differently than what you would have done
otherwise, but it won't change the outcome.
I think it might be the same with Harry. Whatever he does now that
he knows about the Prophecy might not change anything to the
outcome. Whether he learns to fight, to love, to kill or to self-
sacrifice, might not change anything in the end. Whether he turns
evil or becomes better might not change anything in the end
*concerning LV*. It would of course change Harry's life, but not the
outcome of the War. Maybe Harry would be just as able to defeat LV
as an Auror than as a DE. That's why I get a bit bothered when
people say that Harry has to be trained to fight LV : most probably
he doesn't, most probably he could defeat LV as he is now. It might
still be a good idea to train him, but not to fight LV : to fight
the DEs rather.
