Now that you've mentioned it, DD's pocket watch has 12 hands. He 
could have assigned a hand to each of the Potters, each of the 
Longbottoms, Hagrid, now lets see, that would still leave him three 
hands for other Order members and two just to tell the time...

(There are also the planets on the perimeter. Anyone's guess what 
they do).

But there is a much simpler and more obvious way for DD to know 
exactly what happened in Godric's Hollow. The Potters could have a 
portrait of a past Hogwarts headmaster in their living room (with 
other paintings in each room of the house functioning as the 
intranet). If I were DD I would have certainly insisted they'll have 
one.
