Okay, I'm really new to both HPFGU and posting in forums/groups in
general, so please excuse any mistakes I might make. I'm a quick
study and will hopefully catch on very soon.

I've read several posts re: Sirius not being dead. I am a huge
Sirius fan and would like nothing better than for him to be alive, or
come back, or whatever. However, in an interview, JKR says more than
just how upset it made her to kill him. She said, IIRC, that Harry
and her readers need to know that death happens, that people die
senselessly, unfairly, etc. It seems to me, no matter how much I'd
love to believe the great theories re: Sirius being alive,
(particularly the one from the HP Lexicon guy who has a theory re:
two separate timelines,)and no matter how much I personally want him
to be alive, that she's saying outright that Sirius is dead and gone.
See HP Lexicon re: JKR's comments about his death (in the OOP
section).

Also, IIRC, at the end of OOP, DD tells Fudge that Sirius was there
and fought against the DEs, etc., and that Sirius is INNOCENT. So
why fake his death? Once his name's cleared, he should be okay and
able to be in public and able to fight with the Order. Ok, I can see
how DEs thinking he's dead could give the Order a slight advantage,
but to what end? And why not let Harry in on the secret? He knew
for two years that Sirius was an unregistered animagus and didn't
tell anyone, so why wouldn't they trust him with this secret?

Like I said, I want him to come back more than anything, but I'm
finding it very hard to believe that he would run away just when his
name's about to get cleared, and more importantly, just when he's
needed the most. Someone please convince me I'm wrong.
