Heheh, thought you'd never ask <g> Note I said *intentional*. 
Tom did not order  the basilisk  to attack Myrtle. She blundered 
into its gaze.  Unfortunately she must not  have had her glasses 
on at the time.They would have protected her, as Colin, looking 
through his camera, was petrified, not killed.
