I think that students will be placed in two different tracks from 
sixth year on. One is, of course, the NEWT track. The other is 
probably geared to those who are not planning NEWT-level careers 
(i.e. Auror, Healer). This system would be similar to the American 
education system, which once separated students into college prep and 
technical (non-college) classes. Fred and George were probably in 
some of the non-NEWT classes. 

With this in mind, I doubt that the houses will be divided in the 
classroom anymore in the way that they once were, which means that 
Harry and Draco could very well share more than two classes.
