Hm, this would tie in with the 'cycle begins anew' themes running 
through the books.  (references to poems whose last verse is its 
beginning, the hummingbird recycling, phoenix, voldemort, etc., can't 
remember them all) JKR said, indeed, 'the problem is that girls fancy 
Tom Felton.  But Draco is not Tom Felton.' I wonder if the PS Chess 
game was, as some think, a symbolic foreshadowing of what's to come?  
If Sirius was the black knight that got offed by the white queen, 
will Hermione do in a Malfoy (bishop) next?
