I wonder if it has anything to do with Pettigrew's silver hand. We should not forget that he is still in debt to Harry. And a small notice: even though its colour is silver, it is not necessary made of silver. In the potion that was used in L.V.'s rebirth contained unicorn's blood. Could it be possible that the silver colour is because of that?
