YTb thinks:
I find the "Oops!" theory a little hard to swallow. Seems like JK 
wouldn't slip like that. */Supposedly/* it was an "accidently on 
purpose" thing, and it was corrected, but some later versions "un-
corrected" it. I suppose if we don't get anything about it in the 
next two books, we'll have to write it off as a FLINT, but I think 
there's a little more to it than "Oops!"
