Hi everyone, I like this strand, but I had always assumed that Lupin 
got the Hogwarts job because of the anti-werewolf legislation which 
Umbridge had passed had made it almost impossible for Lupin to get a 
job.  Sorry can't for the life of me remember where in OotP that is 
mentioned, but if I remember rightly whoever mentions it says it 
happened a couple of years back.
