See, I still see it as the reverse... Harry finally tells the truth, 
and boom... gets punished for it. Reminds me a bit of MM telling the 
trio to go back to their dorm at the end of PS/SS. Harry has never 
had a good experience dealing with authority... of any kind. 
Everyone, and I do mean everyone, has refused to listen to him at 
some point or the other, or outright lied to him.

I more feel that the scar will remind him of this... adults cannot be 
trusted.
