I have a very similar theory about our Slippery Friend.  I just can't see him wanting to be 2 i/c forever as he appears a bit too ambitious to me for that.  Even if LV is vanquished, LV is going to be ready in the wings to take over, unless of course he's killed between now and then.  My theory in the making is rather on hold right now seeing as the slippery devil is sitting on his heiney in Azkaban. ;-)
