I vacillate between the Longbottoms were tortured because they were good,
and the Longbottoms were tortured because "it's a lifetime of service" for
LV.  (Don't anyone flame me out here - I get totally confused about this and
for good reason.) In OoP, Malfoy makes the strangest comment in the DoM:  he
says something to the effect that Neville's grandmother won't be surprised,
since she is used to losing family members to "our cause." It's the most
confusing statement about Neville overall in my mind.
